You should try the Mexican Riviera. If you get far enough south (like Tulum or further) you get all, and I mean all the benefits of the Carribean, at a fraction of the cost. A sand floor stick hut runs about 8USD per couple per day (and if you are into pitching a tent, the cost is even less), meals are up to you, but a diet of fresh papaya, mango and other fruits will run you less than 2USD a day (an occasional meat dish will drive this up some, but not much). You get all the great weather, white beaches, food, snorkling at a *fraction* of the cost of the Islands. There are also a fair number of you fellow country mates there!
But of course the cost is getting there, silly me. |

That depends on how much money it is. But if you can buy a car it should be alot.
