Sound problem in G2demo

I have an extrange problem with G2 Demo audio. Everything plays 'twice', when somebody says something I hear it and 1 second later the wav plays again, being very annoying to hear, because that happens with _any_ sound in game, even the intro music (before knowing this issue I though 'what an ugly music has this intro...' umm, was the sound problem :-/ )

I have tried to change all Audio settings in the menu but I do not know what I am doing cause I don't understand german

Does anybody have this problem? Or any clue about _which_ is the setting I should have to change?
I am on a P3 1000, 256 ram , GF2GTS and WinMe. The sound card is a ViaAC97.

And... the game is SOOO DAMN GOOOOD!!!!
Thanks.

The only suggestion I could make would be to change G2's audio setting from Miles Audio to DirectSound. If that does not fix your problem then you may need to upgrade your soundcard drivers.

That's too bad. If you have a look at the gothic.ini file you will find that there are some alternative options (and why, all in english! ). I don't know the capabilities of your soundcard, but maybe it's worth a try.

I have solved it yet !!! I went to DirectX diag program to check my sound card configuration and I saw an slider about hardward acceleration. It was down to software mode. I moved it all up to hardware acceleration and I got a message that my card does not support that, but I left it that way. Loaded G2Demo again and voila! I finnaly was able to hear the music. And all sound effecs were 'normal'.

Bye.-
