Just got the compilation pack and want to play the games in order. However Fallout says My version of windows is not compatible.

Is there a way around this?

Thanks

I'm guessing it's the same for Windows NT/2000 as it is for XP. Here is a link on how to install to NT:

http://www.interplay.com/fallout/faq.html

I also just bought the 2-pack.

More info from the Interplay forums:

quote:
Q: How do I install Fallout under Windows NT/XP?

A: Click on the link below for instructions on how to manually transfer Fallout 1 onto your computer under Windows NT/2000/XP.

http://www.interplay.com/fallout/faq.html

Also copy the critter.dat file to the fallout directory.

To run Fallout 1 under XP, you also need to run the compatability program: Start->Programs->Utilities(?)->Program-Compability Assistant

Interplay has since gone out of business (mostly). Luckily, NMA has the same page mirrored on their site.

Just my computer then open up/'explore' the drive the discs in, then find the setup.exe right click on it, click on Properties, then go to the compatability, then set it to 98 and your done, do the same for the games fallout.exe when its installed and it works perfectly.
