I liked baldurs gate 2 because i could make Zecharaiah and actually dual weild... but i liked BG1's music better.

Dual wielding sucks. It is so....Diablo

IWD totally sucked as it was just lineair hack ´n slash. In Baldurs gate the Hack ´n Slash was a bit less, but I still found the game focussing on overpowered items and characters way to much. Munchkin-territory if you ask me.

I loved Planescape: Torment though. It was a tremendous roleplayingexparience, unlike the other ´create your übercharacter here´ IE games. The setting was brilliantly brought to life as were the characters. As a player you had lots of interesting options wich actually relfected back on how the game, and you yourself, developed. Brilliantly done.

P:T is a great game. It's on my all-times top 5 along with Wizardry 8, Daggerfall and BG2. But IWD certainly did not suck Why? Linear, so what? All of us sometimes need to get a rest from deep story-telling. IWD was good at least for several reasons: sweet atmosphere (aquatic museum and severed hand tower were as close for me to P:T feeling as possible), beautiful northern setting, interesting story in case you follow it, some tough battles to play on a hard difficulty level, awesome ending (I mean final movie, those who saw it will understand... During the game I became totally addicted to the voice of a story-teller there What a surprise in the end, huh? ). So I wouldn't go as far as to say that IWD sucked. It did not. Although, P:T is better - beyond any doubt

Oh, really now?

First, the character leveling system in PS:T was a joke compared to the other IE games. TALK ABOUT OVERPOWERING. Although, the items in PS:T was only SLIGHTLY lighter than the BG 1 items, they didn't matter due to the retarded character self-improvement. Munchkin-territory? OH, I THINK SO.

The game was mostly linear. You got the different endings, but that was all.
the story was pretty good, but certainly NOT close to the BG story.

As for dual wielding: you should play more games, Diablo was CERTAINLY NOT the first game to have dual wielding (and it was such a MINOR part of the combat system it was silly). Dual wielding add depth and choice to combat and is certainly more entertaining than the old sword+shield set.

Anyways, my vote goes to BG 2, which is also the best game ever.

Hmm, I voted here a long time ago, but never posted my vote.

Torment. No question.

How lucky you all are who picked PS: Torment. Amazon actually has Pages of Pain in stock right now! And for low prices! You have no idea how hard it was for me to find a new copy a year ago after mine was borrowed and lost. At the time most of the used copies were going for $30 to $40 USD. It is a must read!
