Begining Question??

I am barely level 2 and am loving the game but when I try to go out the east side to do the tasks to become a citizen I am killed right and left have no chance.. Should I go back out the gate I came in and hunt lower level creatures to gain more levels?? Used my LP to gain strength and one handed weapon skills but am dead in two hits getting frustrating.. Only thing I can assume is I need to be level 4 or higher before attempting the tasks of getting the bandits, collecting wolf skins etc.. to become a citizen.. Thanks..

to become a citizen, you need to go to the farm, to the right after the first statue of innos you see, you can buy it fo 80 GP there i think, go to the gate and say a farmer or something like that, and you'll become a citizen and may enter the city.

good luck.

Not correct, if you get the farmers' clothing, you'll be granted access to the city, but to become a citizen, you have to get the approval of 4 of the masters in the city(they all live in the first street you enter, and there's 5 of them), and then become the apprentice of one of them.

Already in the city. Am trying to do tasks to become an apprentis of one of the masters. My concern is I am getting killed in one to two hits outside the east gate am I too low level "Level 2" to venture in that area?? Where should I go to hunt to gain levels??? Thanks...

Do the quests for the masters. When you go hunting, ask Bospers' old apprentice(you can find him near the landlord serving beer outside of the barracks). When you've become a citizen, and feel that you should move on to another place, talk to Lares down at the harbour, he'll take you to a Tavern near the Landowners' farm(and you'll gain some XP for this as well).

uhm, YES, try to avoid the older beasts and only attack the juvenile ones till level 4 or 5, then your strong enough to kill other beasts.

I'm in the beginning to, i already got 6 wolves skins, the problem is killing the orc warrior.
I haven't spend a single point (got 15).

Lares will only take you to the tavern, from there you have to walk to the other camp on your own. You will come across 2 packs of 2 wolves.
When you go with lares you also find some nice things, a decent begin sword (10 dam, 10 str), some gold and arrows.

Did you ask Bartok to accompany with you? He's the hunter who usually sits outside of Matteo's shop.

I haven't asked Bartok yet. So he can help me kill the orc?

There is still another thing i don't get:
If you become a citizen, do you belong to the town already or can you still join the mercs?

He'll help you until the orc is killed.

If you can't handle the orc, I remember there is a cave near the East Gate. That cave has an orc weapon as well.

Being a citizen gives you a few benefits:

(1) Earn money from your master
(2) Access to the upper quarters
(3) It's one of the requirements to join the militia.

Other than that, citizenship has NO EFFECT WHATSOEVER to the progress of the game, which means it has no effect on your future guild status.

Same applies to the Thieves' Guild. They don't care which guild you join.

Think of it this way: citizenship and the Thieves' Guild are bonus.

dont get too ahead of yourself, if you try to move too quickly through the game you will miss out on a lot of things.... before you join a guild, go do the missions that eahc guild requires you to do before joining (eg beating up the mercs) this does not apply with monestary though coz u only do missions there once ur allready in.... anyway try to get as many missions form other guilds before you join any guild, this is extra XP that you wont get once you join another guild (if you have allready been set the task you can join another guild and still do the task)

level 2 is not strong enough imo to be able to fight many of the monsters out the east gate.... however you can use the age old skill of running away if you do want to venture east (btw dont bother going to the lighthouse... go to onars farm and check that place out... there are two merchants there, one of them sells an orc weapon and this is an easy way to pass the 'im not a good for nothing' quest.... also go to the merc camp, talk to everyone, say 'i wanna join mercs' even if you dont intend to... get as many missions as you can.... this way when you return to the farm as a different guild you can still do the missions allready set.

this seems pointless, but you will see what i mean when you are higher level still on chapter 1 and struggling to find XP points... also do all the missions for all the apprentices (eg get constantino's herbs even if u dont wanna b his apprentice) every XP counts....

another tip for starting out, think about what path and guild you want to take, start learning the things that you think you will need... eg if your gonna be a novice dont bother learning crossbows, however DO try to get very very good with weapons and strength BEFORE advancing to mage, that way you can achive warrior mage with little difficulty... im a novice, but can beat down 3 wargs with my paladin two hander (some ppl wont think that is hard but for me it is )
