Gothic 2 Gold - Review @ GameBoomers

GameBoomer's 'DABhand' revels in this rather rave, albeit really realistic review re "Gothic 2 Gold", which actually receives 2 distinct overall ratings: (1) For Veterans 7/10, and (2) For Newer Players 9/10...

Is it worth it then? Yes it is, with the addon its a new game, not just a plain old addon like other games, when you finish the game here is a new area. The new addon kicks in straight away. So it really is worth it

A question

I have a question, and am not sure exactly where to ask it.

I was UNABLE to enjoy English version of Gothic 2 due to the technical issues with sound.
1) In my game, many ambient sounds were missing or were recorded at a too low volume - footsteps, crackling sound of cooking meat, etc.
2) Another problem was the volume of the NPC voices in towns. The random conversations of NPCs played so loud and so frequently, that often I felt like I was in a mad house while in cities.

I posted my concerns both on Jowood's and RPGDot's forums, and there were other people who complained about in-game sounds. However, we never got an official reply from anyone involved with the production and translation of the game. (hehe, a simple volume slider for the NPC voices could make hundreds of fans happy )

Can someone verify whether these issues were addressed in the Gold edition?

I have never heard of this, have you tried posting at the G2 Technical forum here at the Dot? They are usually able to help out.

The 'issues' you speak of never existed. The problem lies either in your hardware configuration or your drivers. There is nothing wrong with the game.

Yeah hes right i played Gothic 2 and didnt have any sound problems or any problems its you're computer and hardware so dont blame the game when the game is fine.

In the addon only thing i noticed rarely was the subs would switch to german but that was it.
