I heard rumors the recommended system will be a bit faster. But there´s no need to worry ...

You can bet you can!
The main issue is to have 512 MB RAM, 64MB Graphic card RAM doesn't hurt either.
I play Gothic II on my laptop (256 MB RAM, 32 MB video RAM) and the harddisk swapping is a pain, especially in the city. Have to stick with 80% sight-range to be able to play.
Ordered extra 256 MB this morning!
This is going to be a lot better...

The graphics card is slow, but if no game runs smoothly at more than 800*600 your windows is probably too old. When did you reinstall it the last time?

I have a P4 1.5 GHz, and a GeForce 2 MX 200, but i only have 256 megs RAM. I am wondering if i would have any problems with these setting or if i should buy some more RAM. Gothic 1 ran perfectly smooth with the viewing at 300%- the only place where the frame rate dropped was in the new camp cave., so im thinking if i ran G2 at normal setting i shouldnt have any problems.

The Radeon 9700 Pro is over rated. Get the Nvidia Geforce4 4600 Ti 128MB video card. It is better than the Radeon. The reason why most people think the Radeon is better, is because the Radeon 9700 Pro is more expensive. It's more expensive because your paying for the name. The Radeon 9700 Pro costs from $349.99-$400.00+ The Nvidia Ti 4600 with even better specs is only $300 tops. I got mine for only $239.99.

The Radeon video cards also have the occasional compatibility issues. Some games, old and new will not work properly with the Radeon video card.

Yes, Geforce 4 TI 4600 is the fastest and best on the marked today.

And to CCRUNNERBOY613:
I have a 1,5Ghz P4 with 384MB RD-RAM and Geforce 2 32MB graphichs card - I haven't experienced any problems even with full view and everything.. the clue is to optimize the machine(you only need systray and explorer running while playing a game for instance, so shut down everything else).
