The basic demo party, which is very playable: fighter, ranger, monk, priest, bard, mage.
For my party suggestions:
Plain vanilla party: ranger, monk, lord, priest, bard, mage
Hybrid party: samurai, monk, ninja, valkyrie, gadgeteer, bishop
Challenge party: fighter, ninja, thief, psionic, alchemist, bishop
The parties are progressively more difficult.

For the hybrid class, I'd replace the gadgie with a ranger just to make it more in the theme of hybrids, plus rangers have magic, autosearch, and ranged instakills. (just use the ninja for lockpicks and pickpockets)

Whenever. I'm not worried about it. I'm not even sure what the difference is right now. It might even have been less. I'll look into it and let you now, since you mentioned it.
