If it were like Civ, if you went with the Savant, you'd just be the evil tribe--maybe fewer happy people, but you get undead armies, or something... _________________ If thousand-year-old family traditions are so important to you, why do you have indoor plumbing and electricity in your family's house? |

undead armies? hmmm.... maybe as you play, conquoring and pillaging something happens and your characters somehow get redeemed and you become the good guys again and go after the Savant afterall????
this may sound like a silly question, but when I was checking the forum there was a flame coming out of the folder for this topic....WHAT does that mean????? (I know that has to be like a silly noobie question, and I should know before I ask, but if there have been flames for topics before I have never noticed before.) _________________ Hindsight is 20/20...there is opportunity in crisis...Member of The Alliance of Middle Earth |

Silly noobie! That denotes a "hot topic", which is simply a thread with more than 30 replies (if this "board veteran" remembers the amount properly ). Why someone needs an icon to tell them what is readily apparent is beyond me, but it's standard procedure for message boards. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

you will think this even sillier, but I thought it had something to do with the non-flamers guild Serves me right i guess for attempting to interact with reality....maybe I will start a new Wiz party and give iron man mode a whirl _________________ Hindsight is 20/20...there is opportunity in crisis...Member of The Alliance of Middle Earth |

Backing up for a moment, as for importing parties into a hypothetical Wiz9....
I forgot something completely. There were 4 endings to Wiz7, not 3. You could:
1) Rescue Vi by trading the Savant with the Astral Dominae - this led to an import party starting at the monastery with Vi there.
2) Ally with the T'rang against the Umpani - You start off at Marten's Bluff (upper).
3) Ally with Umpani against the T'Rang - You start of at Mt. Gigas.
4) Let Vi stay kidnapped by the Dark Savant & keep the Astral Dominae for yourself! This ending left you banished in a space ship floating around the universe. This party couldn't be imported! (You got a message saying you were still drifting in space if you tried it.)
So there is no need to resort to an "anti-lord" solution as Otter proposes (although remember, for Wiz8 the DS was a kicked out Cosmic Lord!). You just don't permit parties allied with the DS to be imported. _________________ The world itself shifts and changes and fades to mist like the strings of a minstrel's harp, and mayhap the dreams we forge are more enduring than the works of kings and gods.-Robert E. Bilbo, I forgot all about that! But you are right, that would limit the possibilities to a more manageable number for the game developers! If you tried to import the savant allied parties from 8 to 9 you could get a message like you've already destroyed everything with your evil and with no worlds left to corrupt your party turned on itself and destroyed itself and there is not a party left to import! _________________ Hindsight is 20/20...there is opportunity in crisis...Member of The Alliance of Middle Earth |

Well if your talking about wiz 9 and you being cosmic lords taking on anti cosmic lords, this is where RPG's disappear and it becomes Power Games. Your cosmic lords starting on whatever level you finished Wiz8, fighting super BS guys. No offense, but there would be so much work put into super characters fighting super monsters. I still wonder how they will do Wiz 9 though. |
