That scanner (an ATM-lookin' thing) takes the level 3 pass and should give you access to the firing range.
***BIG UGLY SPOILER FOLLOWS***
-spoiler space-
Here's the order (IIRC):
talk to- orders- what you get- what you're told to do next
Balbrak- join Umpani- gives level 1- allows commissary, goto obstacle
Rubble- do obstacle course- gives level 2- goto Balbrak
Balbrak- get Trang arm- gives level 3- allows in MG, goto training w/ Rubble
*fix security ATM, opens door to firing range*
Rubble- do firing range, then do covert ops- gives level 4- goto UTU
Rubble @ UTU- go swimming, find dogtags, return to Balbrak
Balbrak- give dogtags- gives level 5- goto Yamir
Yamir- do several things (including finding Glumph), eventually will give level 6 pass which gets you to the flight deck

so #3 is for 2 of the training areas and #4 for the third...
I guess the problem could be having turned in the dogtags before going to the training. Mustn't confuse the game!!! _________________ If thousand-year-old family traditions are so important to you, why do you have indoor plumbing and electricity in your family's house? |

Actually, he skipped ahead even further than that. The dogtags are supposed to be pre-Yamir, while Glumph is actually the second Yamir quest (again, IIRC). You know, I should probably "spoiler" that previous post... _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Only the Level 3 works for me. Level 5 says can't use for training at this time. I can't get the level 4 passkey since I can't get into covert ops... _________________ I think, therefore, I am wrong. |

Alright, Slackertoast, one last try, and then I'm out of ideas...
-You visit the security panel (the ATM-like thing)
-You use the level 3 pass on the panel and it "blows up"
-You fix the wires
-You put the level 3 pass on your hand and click on the panel's screen
-The panel tells you to report to the firing range
-Rubble meets you at the firing range and gives you a rocket launcher, he tells you to kill the target dummies and then meet him a covert ops (I don't think you actually have to kill the dummies to proceed)
-Rubble is standing outside covert ops, he tells you to enter the door behind him, get the 6 flags (or was it 5 flags?), and exit by the blue light
-on exit, Rubble gives you a level 4 pass and tells you to meet him at special ops (U.T.U.). I think the level 4 pass also gives you access to Upper Gigas (not including General Yamir's section)
-at UTU, Rubble tells you how to use some special equipment and sends you out for a swim in search of a missing recon party (the dogtags) _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Man reading your last post dt was like deja vu all over again. I do exactly what you said(step by step many times) and Sgt Rubble never appears. Thanks for the attempts though. It is much appreciated. _________________ I think, therefore, I am wrong. |

Well shoot....
Only other thing I can recommend would be a reinstall, but I'm afraid that won't do you much good. Getting Glumph must have set a flag in your quest list that makes the game assume you've already spent your time with Rubble. Perhaps if you visit U.T.U. via the back door?
Sorry I couldn't solve it for you. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Try going swimming because I met Rubble there, don't worry about the dog tags if you already have turned them in, then go back to Yamir. _________________ Hindsight is 20/20...there is opportunity in crisis...Member of The Alliance of Middle Earth |

Yah, if you go out the underwater ops, you can accidentally leave Rubble there. If you come out from the other side, you won't be able to open the door to Training unless you've fixed and recarded the Umptari training console. _________________ If thousand-year-old family traditions are so important to you, why do you have indoor plumbing and electricity in your family's house? |
