Doupe.cz got hold of Steve Macomber, the art director and co-founder of Silverback Entertainment, to conduct an interview about Harbinger with him. Harbinger is a futuristic RPG developed by Silverback Entertainment, and is in development for quite some time now. Here's a bit:
Doupě: How many character classes will there be and what are their specifications?
S.M.: We have three different playable character classes. The most familiar is probably the human. He can use ranged and melee weapons along with a vast arsenal of drop items. These include things like controllable cameras (most armed with weapons or explosives), mines, and enemy-specific devices. The human also has access to a variety of different smart drugs to enhance his combat performance.
Our Gladiator character is a very large robot that, like the human, uses ranged and melee weapons. In addition, the Gladiator itself is a weapon capable of delivering electro-magnetic pulses, electricity, poison and more. This character also has drop items, but his are heavier, more robotic and generally more devastating than those used by the human.
The Culibine is the most alien of our characters having the unique capability of manipulating ambient energy for all of her attacks. She also uses a variety of amplifiers that, when activated, orbit around her and deliver punishment to her enemies.
All of these characters have unique skill sets and more importantly their own unique feel while playing. |
XBox 2002 Preview

Gamespot has posted a preview of what to expect for the XBox this year. Among the titles are the RPG's Morrowind, Duality and the XBox exclusive Project Ego:Set in the organic world of Albion, the Xbox-exclusive Project Ego lets you assume the role of a 15-year-old male or female hero. Your actions and decisions in the game affect your character's development and the world he or she inhabits. Furthermore, your character slowly ages as the game progresses, and his or her appearance is shaped by your playing. Choose a path of darkness and your character's appearance will reflect your murderous actions accordingly. Likewise, elements such as the amount of exercise and exposure to sunlight your character receives dictates his or her aging process. The lush world of Albion is constantly evolving, and the non-player characters react differently to changes in your character's appearance and attitude. To top it all off, you can even produce offspring in the game. |
The latest forum highlights about Neverwinter Nights are compiled over at Neverwinter Vault - here's an interesting about the SSI Goldbox Series:Importing Things From Dungeon Siege:
Oh sure, and while you're at it, you can transfer any monsters form the old "Gold Box" games into NWN. And download skins for your monsters and characters, just like The Sims. And insert any other content, like roller coasters, a lightsaber, and a sniper rifle. heck, why stop there? Why not just turn it around and make THe Sims a D&D game? |
Another review of Disciples 2 is out at GameGenie rating the turn-based fantasy Strategy-RPG with 4/5 genie lamps - here's theri conclusion:Disciples II is a great fantasy turn-based strategy game. The game has good longevity through its numerous and long missions, scenario editors, and multiplayer capabilities. The sound is capable, and the graphics are outstanding. Finally, the gameplay is a fine creation of turn-based gaming with easy resource management and strategic but not overly complicated combat. If you like this kind of game, then you should like Disciples II. The Legion of the Damned is waiting. | Source: Bluesnews |

The site for Ultima 5 - Lazarus (a remake of the game with the Dungeon Siege Engine) has undergone a nice facelift. Good looking, indeed... |
