Weird graphics problem...

Sorry if this has been posted before.

I just installed Gothic on my laptop, and the game itself works fine. But the in-game graphics are a bit sporked. It's like white all over. It's kinda hard to explain by words, so I'll just post a screenshot: http://nb.slizer.com/gothicbug.jpg

I've disabled fog and weather effects, but this is still happening.

Any help will be appreciated.

It's an SiS 630/730 (16MB). I've updated the drivers and such.

And which os? According to other forums, this card has a problem with winXP as well as win2K. Increasing the shared memory seems to help, but I don't know to which limit...

Yes, I'm running WinXP. :\

I'll try increasing the shared memory. But how do I do that?

Nevermind my last question. I tried setting the shared memory to both 32MB and 64MB in the BIOS. Still the same bug.

This is getting annoying. :\

SiS 630/730 is not compatible to both Gothics. Itīs just an office chipset with minimal 3D capabilities.

Excuse me butting in but am i correct,
this is an integrated chipset & it uses shared system memory for graphics?
if so i would check that there is enough total mem' have you got 256mb?
have you installed the latest chipset (agp) drivers? i assume your dma's
are enabled and also for your ide drives?
Dissabling fog effects can cause big white patches in the distance?
Is your sound working o.k?
and what size cpu do you have?

My computer got 256MB of RAM, yes.
Sound is working great.
The processor is a 1.3Ghz Celeron.
I'm not sure whether I have installed the latest chipset drivers. I spent 3 hours browsing various websites (including sis.com) for info, but it only gave me headaches. >< ~ But I've installed new drivers for the graphics card already.
I don't know if DMA's are enabled for my IDE drives (How do I find out?).
Disabling fog shouldn't do that. The big white patches appears in both cases.

But I guess all this is irrelevant since Gorath says SiS 630/730 is incompitable with both Gothic games. :\ Oh well, I should get a new graphics card for this laptop.
