Looking for websites like gamespot.com that lists ALL PC....

Games by genre. I have checked other websites like 3D Gamers, Gamespy, IGN.com etc... And they weren't any good...

The reason is because I am looking for games that you can't hear about. Examples: GoldenLand, Pathologic, Phase: Exodus etc... Games that you either find out by yourself or never hear of them ever, know what I mean?

Well gamespot has this great browsing engine. You first click on PC then you can choose between, reviews, previews.... and All PC games you choose that, then you can select what genre, First Person Shooters, Adventure, Role-Playing etc... Here's what I am talking about: http://www.gamespot.com/games.html?type=games&category=Role-Playing&platform=5&mode=all&sort=views&dlx_type=all

Thanks to that I was able to find lots of names of interesting games ... But now after browsing trough all the ones on Gamespot.com, I tried other website like 3D Gamers. It's not well fournished when you use that kind of search you just get several news and game files pages. Most of the names repeat each others etc... Gamespy is just messy. Ign doesn't just list name of games, it lists reviews etc...

Is there any other good site that list game by Genre AND PC, whitout them being reviews, previews etc... Just a listing of ALL games on PC by a specific genre?

Please, let me know.

For RPG's, you could check out our database, but we do tend to specialise a little here!!

Thanks to the list named RPGs in Production, I found 2 interesting titles: Soul Quest and Inquisitor. But for the database of RPGDot, hum... it's good but you can't choose by genre (means you could stumble on MMORPG's etc...) Plus there is no date as to when the title was released, is it me that is not doing it right or you can't change it?

Also I was trying to look for other nice sites such as RPGDot, could you give me some names, please?

Well, if you are willing to do some leg-work (if you desire screenshots) you might wish to stop by GameFAQs.com (recently affiliated with GameSpot):
http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/
You may select a genre (Action, Adventure, Driving, Puzzle, Role-Playing, Simulation, Sports, or Strategy) from underneath the alphabetical listing (you should have no trouble locating them). On the concurrent page will be displayed a list of numerous games.
Within the confines of GameFAQs itself you will be able to puruse user-reviews, a message board (for each unique game), guides, and view all known information regarding the title (publisher, producer, staff, website, release areas and dates, etcetera) which may stand you in good stead if you should seek after further data regarding the games.
This may aid you in acquiring a few further titles or, at least, in discovering some that peak your interest.
Good luck...

Yeah I know what you mean but... I already browsed trough gamespot, if I browse trough gamefaqs I'll have the same result. But since some aren't listed on gamespot it might be a good idea, thanks.

By the way, I was interested on having informations about The Banished http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/thebanished/index.html?q=The%20Banished (original title: Mythora) On gamespot it's listed as being released on the 17th April 2006, but that's the German release date.

If you go the that website: http://www.frontstudios.com/banished.php

It's listed as being RELEASED, so I just don't know...

Actually, I am certain you will be pleasantly surprised with the unique list of titles at GameFAQs. Insofar as new titles go, your best bet would be GameSpot, however, for pre-2000 titles, GameFAQs has the best list.

Here is one more area in which GameFAQs can lend a hand.
Stop by the "Game Information" tab for The Banished at said site...
http://www.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/data/932576.html
...and you will see that it was released on the 17th of April in this year (17/04/2006) in the United States, although the publisher remains unknown (as Frontline Studios used a variety of different publishers when releasing the noted title, both in Europe and America).
That you cannot find a copy of the game most likely stems from the very fact that such a diverse amount of publisher's were used in what was a very minimal release (this being Frontline Studio's first true foray into the RPG-like genre of PC gaming). You may wish to contact the studio itself if you are interested in purchasing a copy, or obtaining further information:

We exactly have the same tastes, I was hesitating on citing the game Duality. It's a good thing it was being sold to another developer, the game was just cancelled otherwise. Well since I saw the game Reprobates, I have no doubts now. Same goes for Aura 2: The Sacred Rings.

I saw Paraworld, well it looks ok. Dunno if it's worth buying it, though. Saw a video of Stranger, it could be good. But the trailer was really lame, lame FarWest music and the graphic style isn't really what i am looking for. But I am gonna try the demo though, just to be sure.

Couldn't find anything on Nirvana, got any link?

Aye, I thought much the same thing, however, I will reserve judgement until it's release is nearer, and - with any luck - a demo is available.
For my part, I tend to make a final decision regarding games based most prominently upon their demo (when and if one is available).

I almost missed the game myself, which, considering it is being developed by a small indie-group from Germany, is only natural.

Nirvana is a post-apocalyptic, first-person shooter with heavy roleplaying elements. Judging from your responses thus far, it may not be right up your alley, but it couldn't hurt to take a look.

Indeed.
You wouldn't happen to be fluent in any other language, would you?
I know a few sites that list only European and Asian made games, however, they are also presented in their native tongues (and no, Google's text tools and Babelfish will not help). Japanese fluency would be great.

Rather uncanny...

Oh, you mean the Pyro Studios...I mean, JoWood...I mean, Trilobite Graphics title? Yeah, I was looking forward to that as well. Last I heard the latest publisher (Phantagram, I believe) had cancelled the game. Are you sure it will still be released?

------------------------------------------------------------

I am getting together some information on certain titles you either noted as "NOML" or that you had not heard of. I'll post it once complete, as there are some you simply must look over.

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for, but the advanced search function on this website will help you search for a wide range of games. It's a great place for reviews as well:

Yeah a demo will be good, but I don't excpect it to be that much different from what we already saw. Might be a good RTS though, in the end.

Thanks, well I really like alot post-apocalyptic games. But European (escpecially the Germans) seems to over exagerating it, by placing Industrial/Metal music all over the place. Putting out-of-this world cloths and hair cuts etc... I much more prefer the post-apocalyptic Russian versions.

I have been playing game in Japanese for lots years and I don't know a word of it... Sorry, the only other language I can speak and read is french.

Sorry to dispoint you, but that's only the easy side of the story. No, the game that made me know about 4AM Entertainment is Whiteday: a labyrinth named school, that's how I heard about them. And that's how I got to know about The Fate, which I got easily from ebay.

Whiteday on the other hand is just impossible to get, the only info on a release by 4AM is a review by some guy that I emailed, which only gave me the following reply: "Don't bother - it's awful." , but I didn't want to give up just like that, whitout trying it myself. I tried the demo and indeed it looks like it's awful. But I guess that if, run across the game I'll surely pick it up just to really try it out.
They also released another title, even less well known then The Fate and Whiteday. It's Jurassic Wars: Evolution, it's a RTS. That's the only info I have on it.

Oops, it's Abducted I am talking about, not Duality. If you'll look again, on the list I made you'll see I really cited Abducted and not Duality like I did by mistake on my other post. Duality is definitly canceled and it didn't look that good anyway, just okay I guess.

I already checked them, I added to my list: Two Worlds (definitly!), Stranger, Reprobates and Paraworld. Didn't check the ones I separeted with a line, since they are either not comming up until 2007 or have an Unknown release date. Thanks, whitout you I would have surely missed Two Worlds.

I agree, at times the whole neo-gothic "look at our outrageous hair that means we're from the future" thing is absurdly overdone, however, I have seen some good post-apocalyptic games come out of Western Europe...still, I must concur with the pro-Russian apoc titles. 1C, Nival Interactive, and Akella have all done great things there, to name a few...

No, not quite. Don't worry about it, unless you understand Japanese the page would be rubbish to you. I'll look around for something else.

Ah, believe me, I am not disappointed, truth be told, I feel bad for you. You seem to be shouldering your fair share of problems in the game-acquisition department.
Frankly, I've never heard of Whiteday. I'll have to look around for something on it. Pure adventure games are not a genre I make any real forays into, however, I am willing to suspend that rule every now and then if the game appears worthwhile (for example, if it happens to be The Longest Journey, Dreamfall, or Indigo Prophecy, etcetera).

Don't worry about hurting my feelings, if you weren't interested, it's all good. To each his own, right. For my part, I would have liked to have a stab at it...
Honestly, that is one of the great injustices in the gaming world: that potentially great games are trashed left and right, and yet, somehow we are continually flooded with "Mary Kate and Ashely's Wild Night Adventure" and "Barbie's Horse Racing", or "Spongebob Squarepants: Deepsea Mayhem" left and right. Ah, well, this is not the proper area for a rant...

Don't mention it.

I noticed a comment on your lack of familiarity with the FALLOUT series. May I suggest you rectify that oversight IMMEDIATELY, as no true RPG player would ever admit to such a lack. It's almost as bad as never having played the System Shock series!! Oh, don't forget to put Grimoire on your list!!!!

But thanks, I'll check out Fallout.

I saw some of your post on this forum and you always recommand Grimoire, don't even know the game. I'll check it out now... ermm I found that:

I'm surprised anyone would still run previews on Grimoire. Cleve burned out on development and isn't doing anything on it.

I suppose I could be wrong, but the skeptics on Grimoire have a 7 year track record of being right. When 2005 turns into 2006, and Grimoire is still vapor, perhaps Corwin will see the light.

Plus the website for that game, looks like one of those online casinos...

Got any screenshot of Grimoire?

Speaking of Russian games, I didn't see in your list GoldenLand (Златогорье). You don't like it? It's out in Spanish and Russian do you know if it's any good?

Back to the subject, here is the perfect example of what I am talking about.

Nuclear Titbit 2

No, not quite. Don't worry about it, unless you understand Japanese the page would be rubbish to you. I'll look around for something else.

Ok, no problem.

What bringed up the topic on Adventure games? Is it because I listed Aura 2: The Sacred Rings? Or is it because of Whiteday? Frankly I too am not unto Adventure games, the last adventure game I played seriously and beated was I think Torico on Saturn. I liked it really. Then after that, there was Myst III but I really didn't liked it.

I just listed Aura 2: The Sacred Rings because, it looks like it could be good.

WHAT??? You don't like playing a great RPG with Kate and Ashley Olson as main characters?!!! You surely must be MAD!

No, more seriously I was/am interested in Duality. It's a game on my list, but honestly if you had the choice in being able to play 3 games that were cancelled/unfinished I wouldn't go for Duality. There are ALOT of cancelled games, mostly due to lack of publisher, then financial problems and finally just lost in interests.
