Personality and Speechcraft decrease while sleeping

I'm in House Redoran and just finished retrieving the Founder's Helm, but when I sleep my personality and speechcraft decrease! Does anyone know why this is or how to get rid of it? Is it a disease or merely a glitch in the game? Sorry if this has been asked before, but I searched and couldn't find an answer.

Look at your blessings/curses area in the bottom right. Is there a red box mixed in there? If there is, it is a disease. If not, then it is most likely a glitch.
I had a glich that all my spells that I clicked on would be deleted from my spell book. *sigh*Accursed glitches.

No red curse thing next to my attributes/blessings. I tried a restore personality potion too, but my speechcraft stayed diminished and in red.

Then it is one of the many bugs in Morrowind, an enemy worse then even Dagoth Ur. All you can do, unfortunatly, is restart the game. Next game, try to keep multiple save files at different points to make sure that if it occurs, you are ready. Although, I've never had a bug repeat itself.

Fortunately I've got a few earlier (much earlier unfortunately though) save games, so I will reload. I think I figured out why it happened too. I made the pilgrimage to the shrine at Maar Gan which gives you fortify personality and speechcraft +10. Right after it wore off my personality and speechcraft went all whacky. So maybe no more pilgrimages for me...

Good thing for that save. And if you do make the pilgrimage, I don't think the bug will happen again, but if you want to, save before finishing it.
Maybe the gods were mad that day or something.

re: personality and speechcraft decreae

OK.I don't know if this will apply in your case or not but I'll explain it anyway:

If you use something( armor, headgear, gloves... ) that to increase your characteristics such as strength, personality, speechcraft... and then you are cursed. Then, you must remove them before you apply a cure. Once done, put them back again.

EX: if you wear a gloves that increases strength, and you are cursed which reduces your strength;remove the glove then apply the cure then put it back on.
