unable to enter game. bad charatcer version.
does nayone know what this means and how to fix it. ive been to lost of sites and get errors that are close but arent what i'm looking for.
i know that theres a D2 site chekced there but nada.
any help would be great i dont want to lsoe my LV 62 Nerco

Did you use a character editor? Some of them are really old and change your character format in a way so that it's not compatible with the newer patched Diablo 2.
That's about all I can think of, unless the character file itself has become corrupted...

Then I'm guessing the character file itself is corrupt. Repatching might help... but I'm out of any other possible solutions.

If you D/L some items from the web, they could have corrupted your character. You might want to try removing them and try and re-load the char in game and see if it works afterwards. If all your items are ones that you have found yourself, your character could have been corrupted some other way and is probably lost, especially if you used one of the editors to import items to the char, or created the char with one.
My philosophy is Back-Up Back-Up Back-Up those D2s files then if you have problems later on you have the character file to re-load into your save folder.
