Just started Gothic 2 on the PC. Very enjoyable so far ( I am only level 2 - just got into Town).
First question - Does the game have a quick save button? Can't find any mention of it in the manual and tried all the usual keys.
Second Qeustion - Are there any good guides available that I should look over before going too far. I am not looking for spoilers yet - just the sort of background info that allows one to make informed choices about the type of skills and weapons to specialise in. I cannot find anything on RPGDOT.

F5 for quick save and F9 for quick load... however I have "heard" that using this feature during conversations may cause a corrupt save.

F5 and F9 - . Don't know how I missed that. I did press all the function keys but apart from changing the view distance with F1 - F4 I didn't spot anything else happening.
Anyway thanks for the info Joibella. Having quicksave will make my life a lot easier. It seems to be easy to die in this game.
Quicksave has to be activated in the gothic.ini. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot

The Gothic2.ini file did the trick.
Hey thats a great file. I love the little notes the developers have left on the options: e.g. "Instant potions are disabled because we believe they ruins a game"
How true. In lots of games a weak character with a stack of health potions can kill almost anything. I think I'll leave that option off for the moment and see if I can survive. It must get tough though fighting monsters with no opportunity for a quick slug.
