How do you summon anything instead of chicken!!!

Everytime I use the summon demon spell I summon a stupid chicken in which I think is NO demon!!

Could someone please help me out on how to summon something different for a change? and also what does high casting skill help?

Thanks alot in advance!

the sweet irony...

BladeMen, I think you answered your own question.... I, too, am an awesome Lord Summoner of chickens, I'm pretty sure that you summon better stuff with a higher casting skill, mine is around 60 right now, I'll post if I get a demon with a higher skill...

You must have a high (9?) level casting.

You can not summon demon unless you have a 90 in casting. Thewre is two 10% increase rings I know of. Yes, you will get the chicken , even with 70 or 80 casting.

It is one way to make food for now, and kill it for 1 EXP point. It is infinite if not boring way to increase. Summon a plain old undead and kill for extra EXP. Also summon over ground, said something in manual.
