Ok, I have a Athlon 1900+ XP, a 64mb Geforce 3, 512mb PC2100 DDR ram. I got a score of 7080 on 3DMark2001. All of my games run very fast with no slowdowns, except for Gothic. The game is locked at 20 fps most of the time (by the developers I think), but when I'm playing, it dips even below 20 fps (down to 12 sometimes) and it's choppy as hell! I haven't installed the 1.08k patch yet because it says that the patch is only for the game crashing in Win98. So what's the deal? Do I wait for the proper patch? Do I install the 1.08k patch? Or do I just return the game and get one that has a decent graphics engine?

Well I installed the 1.08k patch and guess what? No improvement, still choppy as hell! Well unless Xicat Interactive tech support can help me get this game running smoothly, it's going back to the shop.

It is NOT XP (I am running just fine) but is most likely one or more of your drivers (video and sound are the most likely suspects). I have the same video card you have. Of course - it COULD be that processor your have. You know, when you don't have Pentium inside .....
