I have had Gothic for a few weeks and it always ran fine. I had Win98.

I upgraded to Win98SE and formatted my Hard Drive.
Loaded up my drivers and Direct X 8.1.
Turned on Gothic and it was all gray.
Downloaded the latest video driver and it was fine.
Then the game started to crash.
What had happened was the Network card and the Video card was sharing the same IRQ.
I had to move the cards around in the system until they finally were seperated.
It is not a good idea to have your video card share an IRQ with another device.
After I fixed that problem Gothic was fine again.
