I would like to know the best way to get the best graphics for my PC.
If anyone could help me tweak the .ini file. The in game settings are all at high.
My PC is:
Athlon AMD64 3500+
1MB DDR400 PC3200 TwinX Dual(2x512)
Seagate 120GB SATA 150 @ 7200/rpm
nVidia G-Force FX5200 256MB
So what would be the best setting...
Thanks

Just use the graphics options menu, everything is pretty much self explanatory. If you do go into any files it even explains what the entries do. YOu can probably just run up all the settings and run it fine, if it stutters turn it down a bit and try again. It isn't rocket science. _________________ “Everyone’s a girl when they’re face down.” |

You have a really strange PC configuration. Why did you put an office graphics card into a gamer PC? This wastes at least 50% speed - or probably 80% speed- in in grahics intense games. Fortunately the Gothics are CPU-limited, so it doesn´t matter here. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

I know, its not the best card around but it's better than nothing for now.
I changing it soon, I'll upgrade to a 6000 something nVidia card. I'm just waiting a little for the prices to go down.

I (still) have a 6600GT, and I can´t recommend it. It´s loud, it´s hot, many people already have their 3rd card because the first two had to be replaced. Plus the 6x00 series is not compatible to the Gothics. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

No. 256 MB RAM is simply not enough. I would even say it´s a surprise G2 runs at all without serious issues.
You should check if your PC uses standard DDR memory. Adding a 512 MB PC400 module should make it clearly faster. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Gorath,
What did you mean regarding the 6x00 series and Gothic. _________________ Druid |

Flickering textures. It took months to find a working driver.
The problem was random. Some had it, others not.
I don´t know the current status. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |
