graphics problem!

Ok... when i start Gothic, it gives me the piranha bytes mini-cartoon, then the only thing i can see is... nothing!!! I can hear the music, but i can see diddlysquat. i aint paying 40 bucks for nothin, please help me!!!

Of course we will try to help you. But post your specs (esp. graphic card).
And what is this nothing? Black display or...?

let me say this: nothing=black screen, and please tell me the newest sound, graphic cards, and i have directX8.0.
