Did anyone else have a problem where Gothic would quit on them after causing an assertion when they tried to enter the mine?

I'm level 11 and I'm trying to enter the mine to do the minecrawlers nest quest and every time I try, the game quits on me at the "loading" screen. This is bad.

hmm by me it worked all fine reinstall your game maybe there was some error when you installed it

strange, i had something happen a few times to me, but nothing consistant.
twice, when i enterd a mine/orc cemetary, when it get to the point the loading screen should come up it just sat their and did nothing.. had to reset my comp..
but that happened like 3 times the entire time i played gothic
