technical error message
   

used to know how to work these thing myself but my work took all my time so:
tried to load gothic2 and it crashed at the beginning and the message is as follows:
"X:xd30_initperdx: can't create D3dx context ! error D3dxerr_c2psnotsupported"

tried to load gothic 1 and got the same message both of them used to work

system profile
2.4 p4 intel
256 ddr
geforce 4 64m

if any of u know the answer plz respond but thx anyway

Hmm
   

I'm not completely sure, but I'd try reinstalling the latest version of DirectX (9.0b I think) make sure you have latest Nvidia Drivers (52.16 again, I think). If that doesn't work.. Other than reinstalling your operation system, I don't know what to tell you.

You know, Gothic is quite an old game, as well as it's sequel... The newest drivers might not be the best solution. Try to roll back to previous full releases, and see what happens...

This is a DirectX related error message. Reinstall DirectX. You should go back to an older video driver. New drivers are only optimized for the latest cards.

The latest video drivers, and latest DirectX work for me. The game plays great. That's why I suggested them.
