I have no idea m8, how to do it, ill try it in a new game but may take a bit to do all the sub-quests etc to get in the castle, but it could be possible that you cant become one.... The reason i cant say as it would spoil the game :

After finishing the old mine quest Thorus wants you to join the guards of the oc. If you refuse becoming a guard you'll get the chance to join the fire mages instead.

The natural order for being a magician is to be:

Fire Mage
Water Mage
**** Mage

I censored the last part so I wont spoil anything...

Dont join New Camp
- It will be to long until you can learn magic

Dont join Sect Camp
- You cannot reach past Circle 4 wich is required to finish the game

Best Regards
JemyM
