Tell Me About Beyond Divinity!

Well I have 50 bucks just itching to be used to pay for a sparkling new CRPG. I LOVED Divine Divinity. But just about every review I've read about Beyond Divinity has either been lukewarm or downright negative. But what the hell do reviewers know?

So I'm asking you, the players who've played the game or are currently playing it... thumbs up? thumbs down? and why?

BD, is NOT DD. Not even close!! Having said that, it's a most enjoyable game. It's ordinary, at times a trifle dull; especially the dull colours, but it's well worth the money. It has its problems, but it's witty, clever, at times absorbing and typically frustrating. Really it depends what you're looking for in a game. It will fill in quite a few hours till something better comes along, but it's no classic. I thought Dhruins review here at the Dot was quite fair. If you haven't read it, check it out.

I've liked what I've been able to experience so far. But constant crashes have made progress in the game difficult and I've been too busy to track down the problem and fix it.

Since you appear to be the resident divinity series expert, do you know if Larian is planning on release a patch beyond the current version 1.45?

I haven't heard any updates about a new patch. But then, I haven't been following the news about Beyond Divinity recently. I've had to put the game on the back burner until I have more time.
