Eve Online previews at Waterthread.orf and 4belowzero |
|
Just a quick pointer to two previews of Eve Online: one is at Waterthread.org, and the second one at Fourbelowzero. The interesting thing is that both are pretty negative (something we saw from comments of our readers earlier on). Here's how the preview at fourbelowzero concludes:

EVE is in a bit of a mess and is being released too early with too little balancing and testing, with numerous features missing and a hell of a lot of promises requiring fulfilment.
The "new player" experience is bewildering with a learning abyss that many may never climb out of.
It may be best to wait 6 months when they will, almost inevitably, be offering free-trials in desperation to get players back into it (and when some of it should be working properly)... on the other hand it may really pull the rabbit out the hat.

Don't hold your breath and don't buy this game thinking it will be much anything like it claims it will be.

You have been warned.
Gulp. |

After reading the reviews, I just feel sad.
Why are creative minds born without ears? Why can't they ever hear what they need to hear? Time and time again, online games are guilty of the same thing.. being so wrapped up in what they want to accomplish that they don't take the time to listen to what their customers are telling them about what they've delivered. Do they not realize that their customers are going to judge them on what they've delivered, not on what they wanted to deliver, or wanted to accomplish? bah! |
