Uncontrollable Forward AutoMove

No matter how many times I start a new character, the game starts with me in automove, and I can't turn it off. "Q" won't do anything. Actually, it's not just automove--I only go forward. As if I'm holding the forward button. I can only change directions, but never back, and definitely it won't let me stop.

What the heck?

I don't even know where to start to define this problem.
Any suggestions?

Thanks.

-Yaramir.

Not sure if a config setting can cause this but if I were you I'd try disconnecting my keyboard and reconnecting it.

If you have a spare keyboard you can swap it out with, try that too just to see if the problem persists between the two peripherals.

Does your keyboard require a special driver?

If not, try reloading the default Windows keyboard driver in Device Manager.

Hope these suggestions help.

Well, the keyboard works just fine in all other applications.
Never had a problem with it. Also, all other buttons work.
I'm not sure, but I think I had a related problem a long
time ago and it ended up being performance related
somehow...

hmm. thanks.

I was having the same problem.

Then I realize the game had detected my Sidewinder Freestyle game controller. This controller allows movement by actually physically tilting the controller in a given direction. When the controller is sitting on my desk, it's tilted downward, which the game recognizes as 'forward' and off I'd go...

Foturnatley, the Sidewinder Freestyle controller has a button on it which turns off the physical tilting aspect of the controller which resolves my problem.

Is it possible you have a controller of some kind connected to your PC that is causing this to happen?

LOL no problem!

I was the same as you when it happened. I was scratching my head thinking, 'christ, where do I start to troubleshoot this one?' LOL

Anyway, glad you can play the game now...
