Hammer & Sickle: Review @ PCGameworld

PCGameworld's Bret Callinan has this rather realistic review re "Hammer & Sickle", which receives an overall rating of 78%...

I enjoyed playing this game and think a lot of other war game enthusiasts will too. It might even catch the eye of a few strategy game players at the same time. Overall this game deserves a look, weak graphics or not. Good luck comrade and do svi danya!

What disappointed me was that a game with such a great story displayed some rather under whelming graphics and tons of load screens, which ultimately end up hurting the material instead of supporting it. I think it’s a good game that could have been an awesome game but because of those reasons fell shy of the mark.

Load screens i can understand but if the demo was anything to go by they're super quick anyway... but graphics!? am I really that out of touch that i think they're great?

And should a game really be punished this way because of the gfx?

Maybe I've been playing the PSP too much lately ... I didn't notice the load times as anything bad.

I don't ever think that a game - especially a RPG - should be punished for graphics ... I actually think games should be punished for obviously pushing graphics over substance.

I didn't like the demo very much, but that had to do with the feel of the gameplay, and the seemingly hacked together quality of the game.
