I always suspected foul play by another prisoner. The molerats were probably scavengers eating the dumped corpse.

Fez probably has the most likely idea.
He wasn't attacked while sleeping because why would he sleep out there when he was so close to the camp?
Someone probably killed him and dumped the corpse in that cave.

It never made any sense to me... the molerats obviously couldn't have killed him, but if someone killed him and dumped him there, why not take his amulet? And furthermore, who could possibly profit from it? Scatty is the only one I can think of who might have some motive (get Fletcher to start paying his debts)... still seems far fetched though. IMO, you just have to apply RPG Logic instead of common sense to this, and everyone knows that one of the cardinal rules of RPG Logic is that, for the first half of the game, Player>Monsters>Guards>Player

You retards don't understand the complexity of the game.
Snaf sent Nek to get cooking items for him. Mudd overheard it, and we all know how Mudd is. Nek got to snacking on the dark shrooms and Mudd showed up
You have to understand two things.......shrooms and a horny little pervert make for a bad day. Nek is in a prison colony on shrooms without soap and Mudd is "interested". My keyboard will not allow me to go into great detail about how Nek died, but that is why the lizard up the hill to the left keeps pacing.....he KNOWS what Mudd is like.

now why would snaf send someone to get mushsrooms for him and then go out to the place where they grow and kill him and not even bother to take some back ?
maybe nek just ate the only poisonish mushsromm there was to ever be found in the game ?
