"Age of Decadence" is going to suck. It is going to suck hard, and it is going to suck long. The funniest thing, though, is that because of VD's juvenile behavior, even if it was going to be the greatest game of all time, he can't even get the readers of a site called RPGDot to give it a second look! That means the audience for this game is essentially restricted to the ten or fifteen posters on the RPGCodex forums. Now that is truly retarded. |

Did you expect me to beg or to suck up to everybody for you to like the game? If you don't like the game, that's absolutely fine with me. I've already got some interest from people who liked the concept and who are interested in the project. That's all I came here for. Keep whining though, it's entertaining. |

Wow, 23 news posts out of 3,000+. I made 556 news posts myself. Here is a few examples from the link you provided that earned negative comments:

This is just plain silly. Everyone that wants an rpg with a little depth and roleplaying, and that isn't a graphics whore will at least try the demo. And if its good they'll buy it. Just buy looking at the screens I know I'll buy it. I'm starving for a real rpg, and besides Nightwatch and a few small indie games, this is it. And this looks like it will be offering what I want more than any commercial release will.
I think its pretty sad that when a game offers some debth in character variables, options, and roleplaying choice it gets labled as oldschool. These characteristics of an rpg should be solidly in the new school, and constently improving and being innovated on. If indie projects are the only ones showing innovation and taking rpgs in the right direction how is that old school?
So when it gets boiled down to the nitty grit the only thing rightly dubbed oldschool about indie games are their graphics. And since graphics really have nothing to do with gamplay or game enjoyment to anyone that isnt shallow or superficial that doesn't matter.

When a civilized person doesn't agree with a review, they say the other person has a different opinion.
I visit RPGDot, or pretty much any website, and I see "website x posted the review for game x", and they may comment that they agree or not with it.
You simply call them retarded!

What about Blakemore's game? You critize the game because it was made by Blakemore, so it can't possibly be any good. It's not the graphics, the gameplay, the story, just the creator.
Why can't I say the same thing, since this "Age of Decadence" (a fitting title, I must say, for the actual website) is made by a childish prick that keeps insulting reviewers from another websites, not to mention developers of certain games? |

Blakemore's game is irrelevant. It is the man himself, and the views that he holds that should be criticized. The decision by some people on this site to turn a blind eye to those views for the sake of something as trivial as a computer game is reprehensible.

Aside from drunken brawls with his mates, he would never think to

They've been socialist (like all intellectually inferior peoples) for a
century - Australia's status as a "Free" country was always a token
label, they were included in the lists of democratic nations more out
of pity than respect. This has all been coming for a long time. They
were destined for totalitarianism, it has just taken a couple of years
to warm up. These men were never strong or hardy enough after the
ravages of WWII to front any opposition to a parental government. They
just don't have enough spunk or fight in them. They barely even have a
military of their own to speak of, they generally rely on the graces of
nations with nuclear weapons to protect themselves, like drunken bums
who panhandle the international community for security handouts.
They gave up their guns without so much as a whimper, they bent over
like bitches the second the government said so. They have had serious
censorship and government controls for a decade or so without a
complaint of any real magnitude. They just aren't Chuck Yeager - they
don't have the "right" stuff anymore.
Before WWII, you still had plenty of pioneers and freemen ... most of
the good ones died in the war, leaving the ratfaced finks and quasi-
commie labor scum behind. There just aren't enough good ones left to
mount a defense against the complacent and cowardly mob who are
desperate to sacrifice all their freedoms for the government's
"protection." The vicious cycle of dependency right down the socialist
toilet has been swirling for a long time in Oz.
I was at the protest on Friday ... it was pathetic. A couple of
greenies, some students who would turn out to protest a change in the
weather and a bunch of hippie herbal dope smokers and grunge bands. The
Australians had a chance to show their true colors on May 28th and they
showed them alright - YELLOW.
The truth is, they are a bunch of mental defectives - give 'em a footy
match and some peanuts, they'd let bureaucrats fuck their daughters for
a sports jersey and see them sold off into white slavery, they wouldn't
care one way or another. Sitting on their pub stools drinking their
Foster's and yanking pokey machine handles to waste their pension
checks from their all powerful mother and father, the State ... they're
really fugging pathetic creatures. I'm not sure Australians actually

In my opinion, yes. What would you call a person who'd review Quake, for example, and call it an isometric, turn-based game, posting for other people to see and form opinions based on such a review?
