I've been playing for a while now and have a high level party. When I finally decided to do more quests and when to marten's bluff I coundn't do anything to the catapult. When I "use" it it says "nothing happens."

So if anyone knows whats wrong please tell me

You need to go to the back of the Catapult where you can unlock the arm and then press it to make the arm of the Catapult slam against the castle wall and serve as a bridge to gain access.

Drac ...

I've played through the game a third time, and that bloody cat gives me trouble every time. Follow Val's advice, but be prepared to fiddle with it a bit. Maybe (probably?) I'm senile, but the actual switch seems to have a very small and unforgiving hot spot!

No, very small part will work. You're not senile! I think if you click on the bottom part of the back (where the rope is wound around the axle part of it) It will wind the catapult down. Then walk to the side and flip the lever to cause it to fire. It takes some hit-and-miss experimentation, but will eventually work....good luck. One of the more frustrating portions of the game, IMHO..
