Yes, the final battle of Ch1 was the first time I died; see earlier post. I'm finding the Beholders very challenging, even with the Orb. First second all my buffs and protections stripped, second second, all my magic neutralised, then it's lest just see how long my supply of Heal potions can last!! A tank might have an easier time of it than a caster. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

Final battle of chapter two was the only 'close to dying' part my monk ran into so far (besides the impossible battle which is optional).
My blackguard gets blown to subatomic particles on a regular basis, however. Heh. Oh well. He'll pull through (got him using a +10 acidic regenerating vampiric regeneration sword with true sight on it).
Beholders were nothing but kickballs to my monk. I went into the main chamber and killed the tyrant before I noticed I had missed the rock useful in exploring the ruins. _________________ Estuans interius, Ira vehementi

Ha, typical for me was this. Last night I opened a door and 3 beholders were behind it. Before I could do anything, I was hit by 3 beams. Buffs gone, magic gone, dead!! Now, I click on a door and IMMEDIATELY run away to avoid the initial barrage. Now with hit and run and sometimes Time Stop, I can win. _________________ If God said it, then that settles it!

@Dte - I don't know why you had a rough time ... as I wrote else where here I waltz through with a starting character who was a pally 10, fighter 3. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=

Must have been an extended run of bad luck, because my monk is currently sashaying thru chapter two with minimal effort. Deekin is dying a little too often, but he's a fun henchie to have so I keep bringing him back. I still want Grovel for a henchie. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

When you first go into the well, that goblin approaches you. That's Grovel. If you help him escape the dungeon (all of 1 line of conversation to accomplish that), he'll be in the well room of the inn from then on. I find his running commentary pleasant for some reason. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Grovel! Now I remember. "Is it rest time yet? ... Back to work"
How *could* I forget .. oh yeah, it was about 8,000 miles and two weeks since I last saw/heard him. _________________ =Member of The Nonflamers' Guild=
