Not really. I donīt see the relevance of who does the marketing. JoWooD has the publishing rights. Whoever wants it has to talk to them. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

It didnīt. JoWooD financed the whole thing and sold the rights for G2 and maybe those for the add-on to Atari. _________________ Webmaster GothicDot |

Perhaps I was once again hasty in calling these good news...
Well they are since they actually confirm Jowood's interest
in continuing the series (we knew that, but its nice to have it
officially)
But as for the Addon... It seems that it just spread more confusion.
I can just see us belyaching for quite some time before we get anything
concrete. Damn, back to just where we started...
P.S Anyone saw these "Heart of eternity" screens ?
(main news section) It seems Gothic has inspired more than
a few Developers lately ? |

Indeed. This title looks very promising. It could be the next answer to the eternal question: "Are there any other games like Gothic?"
The only thing that concerns me is whether or not they will get an international publishing deal. Goldenland never saw the light of day anywhere outside of Russia. Let's hope the same doesn't happen here. _________________ All shall hear the words of Karras...the words of Karras |

That's not really surprising. PB already confirmed Gothic 3 quite a while ago (mentioning it in Dec 2002, for instance and earlier last year again.) And the good sales of Gothic 2 in Germany really did help JoWooD make their way through a financially troublesome time. Not a miracle that they're interested in keeping one of their best cashcows running. |

Gorath's comments. I am confused. Is ATARI or JoWooD in control? Who can publish an English version that includes the add-on? One or the other, or both?
Was there not an English add-on voice overs made back in September 2003?
Does an English add-on EVEN exist? It would have to exist by now since PB is not working on one. IF it does not exist now, it will never be made.
Does Atari or JoWooD have a copy of the English add-on and are keeping quite about it? _________________ Wo ist mein Sumpfkraut? |

@Gorath Can you make a translation of the official Gothic2 site latest German new rapport? I think it contains some info that contradicts your info gained by Jowood. -> Read that in the English text _________________ Moderator and Council Magician of the RPGDot Shadows
