| Old G2 started ok, G2 gold will not??? |

Nothing has changed in my pc. Have a120%, anydvd, and nero installed.
My desktop icon has the following;
Target "C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic II\UNWISE.EXE" /W4 "C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic II\INSTALL-Addon.LOG"
Start In "C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic II\System"
Does the above look right and if not, could someone show example of their shortcut?
With the Ctrl Alt Delete window open, when I double click the desktop icon, g2.exe briefly appears in the processes list then goes away.
I have a total of 1.1 gig actual memory available for the game out of a total of 1.536 gig.

Managed to get the gold edition to run. Disabled norton anitvirus before installing. This time, after installing disc 4, a vertual file system was created. It didn't do that before. Then I rebooted and the unused shortcut icon was deleted.
To be certain, I uninstalled Alcohol 120 because it creates a vertual drive. And my installation has to have disc 4 in the drive. It'll try to install again, if auto insert is on, just cancel, then start the game with the Blue desktop icon. |

The target looks really weird to me.
You can try to change it to:
"C:\Program Files\JoWooD\Gothic II\Gothic2.exe"
I've installed some mods so in my desktop icon it says "D:\Gothic 2 NotR\System\GothicStarter.exe", but I can still start the game with the normal Gothic2.exe
"Start in" is the same in my game.
If the normal exe doesn't work something probably went wrong during installation. I'd try to reinstall it in that case.
