Much as I love Gothic, I wasn't about to lay out the big bucks for NOTR, and now it is finally coming to the US.
I have a couple of questions about it, though. Will it be necessary to play through G2 again to play NOTR? Do you need G2 save games? And finally, more likely, do you start out all over again with no weapon and no level? I know that at least some of it takes place in the Khorinis area. |

I'm excited about it too! Hurray! *fives migwell* XD
Pretty much what you asked is in the FAQs. Did you do a search? :3
From what I heard, in terms of difficulty, NotR is a lot different than G2 from the beginning of your game. So pretty much, it makes sense that your save games are not compatible; you have to start all from the beginning. |

-Will it be necessary to play through G2 again to play NOTR?
Yes, but as has been pointed out, NotR enhances the game in more than one way, so replaying it will be fun enough.
- Do you need G2 save games?
No.
- And finally, more likely, do you start out all over again with no weapon and no level?
Yes, and the new (NotR) part starts immediately. _________________ Jaz |

Thanks, gents, for the info. I asked because I am in chapter 5 of yet another replay of G2. So with any luck I can look forward to finishing up and then STARTING OVER when the Gold edition hits. As you say, the gameplay will be different (harder) and I might not hit chapter 5 with everything I need and 100 learning points saved up...
Where is the NOTR FAQ? I have read a lot of posts about NOTR, but it's mostly just Q&A threads as people play through the translation or Euro versions. Will use search and look around more. I promise. |

@ EDV. I don't know if it is ok but, if you keep having trouble finding it, let someone know and they could probably send you a copy. If you want I could put a pre-order on one and send it to you. |

You can't have your own avatar until you have a postcount of 500+ posts. Look at the FAQ section for more information.
P.S. Do everyone a favor and don't go posting useless messages to increase your postcount. |
