The demo crashes constantly for me, to the desktop. It only crashes when the game loads a new level, like immediately after creating a character, or early on when you fall down the hole. It doesnt crash all the time, or consistently, but it does CTD about 1/2 the time.
Any ideas?
I am running:
Athlon XP on Soyo Dragon +
512mb RAM
Geforce 3 ti500
Audigy
Win 98 DX8.1

Well - I originally downloaded the demo form the Arx site. Two things were peculiar:
1) I was asked to restart my box to install the demo and
2) I have groomed a stable box at least until now so was surprised to experience so many CTDs (Asus A7266E/Athlon MP 1600/512 crucial DDR/GF3 (23.11)/98se).
So I decided to d/l the demo form another site (cable modem) choosing "fileplanet". Shrugh
Installation of the second demo after deinstall of the original was
1) quicker
2) no request to restart my machine,
3) no CTDs playing for 30 min with saves included -
go figure -

It always CTDs for me when I change the graphics settings, and occasionally on level load.
BTW, I don't think the first level has to be so small. It's like 2 rooms. Weird. |
