Lava jumping on level 8 - a new (?) approach

Like many others I got immensely frustrated with the stupid jumping over the lava pit in level 8. Tried the helpful suggestions I found on this forum to no avail (removing armour, using swords to extend the platform, waiting till the last moment, aiming for the right hand side). Finally I managed to cross the jump using an approach I haven't seen metioned before. Apologies if this is already a well known trick.

Insted of using swords to extend the platform use armour. Armour gives a bigger surface area that you can actually jump from and best of all you can stack armour pieces on top of each other to extend the platform even further. I had only two pieces of cheap armour with me that I was prepared to sacrifice but even these two were enough to create a handy walkway that changed an impossible junp into an easy one. I am using PC ARX version 1.17

That's a good idea.

I had some stones I kept in my bag after having played several times, and used them the same way. Welcome to the boards by the way.
