It's not my question, but I think I can answer... I think I always did the keycard section first. The vault always had the same stuff in it. Don't make me start another party to test this, Bilbo! I've been grinding thru Morrowind at around 3 fps and my wife is already complaining that I spent more of the 4 day weekend with my PC than with her and the kids.

I always do the keycard part first. Those items have never been in there. I go there first so i can use Lorrac to build PP so i can get Antone.

Alright Dteowner, I'm dropping this one. We're going in circles without reaching definite conclusions.

Like I said earlier- lots of talk about a rather trivial issue... I still enjoyed the conversation, though. Hope I didn't come across pissy with that last post- I was just joking around, Bilbo! Some time in the future, we'll put this one to bed once and for all.

@dteowner
No, not pissy at all and no offense taken. I enjoy our conversations here, of which this is at least our 3rd long running one. It's OK for us to be disagreeing, and IMO it's OK for people to agree to disagree. (This is the second time I'm posting that theme at RPGDot this morning. Odd coincidence.)

Back on topic, somewhat: It's just that we had different experiences in this part of the game for whatever reason. Basically, short of one of us going in deep and cracking open the secrets of the programming of the game (which for this minor point I'm NOT going to do, and I'm not even sure I could do it at all; reverse engineering does have its limits), we're never really going to know what Sir-Tech did and why. So I figure let's just drop it and move onto more easily discovered & fun points of the game.

hee hee my memory was off too, i just ran 2 new groups through there; the third item that's always in the vault you get in via the tunnel or the elevator that won't open without hostiling Lorrac is an Amulet of Static, not some potions.

Hey guys, I'm just curious; are there any negative consequences for showing Rattus Note and killing Lorrac and the guards? I'm particularly concerned about gamebreaking ones that may show up later on...

Note that I already showed the note and won't go back and undo it unless there's something gamebreaking in there...

No consequences unless the Higardi guards outside the bank somehow become aware of the combat inside (like if Lorrac runs out of the bank and you chase her down and kill her in the street).

I thought the patrols went hostile if they saw you kill a citizen of Arnika.

Yes, dteowner, you're right on all counts, and it's 2 vaults with easy locks and chests fulla trash, and another with a Golem and more trash around the U from the Keycard vaults. Really, the only reason to go here at all is BL. Which i haven't been using at all in my recent finishes.
The other side is the practise area for Knock-Knock. If you go in there with a few Mana Stones, it only takes the game time of walking back from He'li's after each visit to reload the stones, but it takes less playing time to sleep for mana recharging.

Not only that, but you don't have to show that snooty little baggage a keycard at all. I found out that you can sidle behind her and push the button nearest you to open the elevator with no consequences whatever. I went down and looted the public vaults the first time I played the game before I'd ever gotten a keycard.

Nothing game breaking. When you start fighting the bank guards & Lorrac, you'll get messages to the effect that your faction rating with the Higardi Bank has dropped. This is different from your general Higardi faction rating. I've never had Lorrac or a guard escape to the outside, but I'm sure that Dteowner's right if you killed her outside of the bank in view of the Higardi patrols.

Just another example of multiple solutions to the same problem. That's one of the great things about Wiz8.
