btw, pixel shading eats 5-10 FPS but that is the effect giving the NICE water and what not... I would hate to disable that.

I'm posting in here to bump this helpful thread... I would make it sticky but I don't seem to have that as an option or else I'm blind or something.

That is great news. I'm on a Celeron 800, 192 RAM and 32mb TNT2 card. If I get rates comparable to yours I'll be VERY happy. Happy enough to stand it until I can properly upgrade. I'm also runnin Win98, so I'm hoping it'll make better use of the RAM than WinXP.

Fingers crossed.

Please let me know how you do with the noSD .exe. I wasn't going to buy the game because I'm still on an:

Athlon 600
128MB SDRAM
TNT2 M64 32MB

I'm not planning to do a major upgrade because I'm saving up my money and get everything I want when AMD's Hammer is released (next year).

You'll need a GeForce 3/4 to do that.

framerate

typing TDT into the console will bring up debugging info that includes the framerate so that you can turn it on & off when playing. ~ to bring up the console.

Um...I am just a little confused. being that it is a "No-CD.exe" do you need to copy any files from the cd to the hardrive for like video or music or whatever.

But thanks a lot for this patch and hosting it. I hope it takes care or the constant loading htat I am getting. I mean, the game loads enough as it is when moving from one small area to the next, but all of this loading between loading...arghhh!

I believe cd is accessed for some files like movies, the only thing the exe does is remove safedisc. So try it out, can only be good.
