Hi, my name is booger. I'm making the rounds and spreading the word. Perhaps some of you have heard of a game called Egoboo. It is in development right now. It is an open source project and we can use all the help we can get. If anyone has experience with low poly model editing or with scripting (we will be using Lua), we will be needing to make a lot of stuff to fill our dungeons. Also, if you have experience coding we could always use an extra hand.

Or if you're just curious, check us out at http://www.goldenbeast.com/egoboo/

Egoboo will have randomly generated dungeons and roll your own customizable characters. If you have ever played any roguelike games, you should find Egoboo to your liking. It's like a roguelike with a top down 3d engine running it. Nethack brought into the 21st century. Well, that's what it WILL be like once we finish it.

We are planning our next demo release for the beginning of December. But there is a current demo you can download now. OpenGL and versions for multiple platforms.

Anyway, that's my 2 cents.

I have played an early demo, and it was quite nice

Good luck for your project

Thanks, I'll keep y'all posted on Egoboo's progress.

Kind of off the topic, but whatever happened to 'Legends of the Seers'? I was going to help out with that games development a while back, but it just kind of faded out.

The project is dead. RPGDot is what came out of it.

We made the same mistakes most aspiring developers made - a project too large to handle for a fan group. We lost the engines guy, and nobody picked up the work.

But the idea is still in my head. No idea how to realize it, though. I'll ease my pain by fooling around with the Morrowind and NWN editors then *g*

Yeah, the scope of LotS was really big. Egoboo is kind of the same type of development, a bunch of gamers throwing something together. I'm determined though, as are a number of people working on it.
