Gothic 1 Add-On Ready!

While waiting for Gothic 2, give The Trial a try. This expansion adds party-building to the Gothic engine in a new storyline.

I click on the link below Datei (Download) called the_trial_chapter1.zip and it takes me to the page I'm already at.

Am I doing something wrong?

Maybe gamesweb/WoG still block oversea downloads. I´ll try to upload the mod to RPGDot. We´ll see if it works. Myrthos is changing everything in the background.

I´ve uploaded three files to the Gallery:
-The Trial
-ShakeyCam (Alistair´s first person mod)
-GothicFPS (disables the frames per second lock; use at your own risk)

Patch 1.08k and Mod Kit 1.08k are required.

Hmm. I couldn't get it from World of Gothic either. The rpgdot version seems ok though:

Thanks Gorath. Any chance of attaching a thumbnail from pcdrama to the download page?

Thanks Gorath! I downloaded it from the Gallery.

I unzipped it into my Gothic folder. Then started up GothicStarter just like it said in the Read Me... But it didn't show up in the list.

Then I unzipped it (again) into the Gothic sub folder (the "gothic" folder inside the "Gothic" folder) thinking maybe thats what it ment. Still nothing.

I have the GOTHIC MOD PLAYER-KIT (1.08K) and the 1.08k patch. Yet it won't show up in the list. It just shows "Gothic the game (1.08 )." and for some reason, that won't even start.

Any Advice?

Hi Lizzy,

You should end up with a file called TheTrial10Eng.ini in your Gothic\System folder. This is where GothicStarter populates that list from. Is it there?

You are starting GothicStarter itself? It should be in that same System folder as well.

A.

What do you know... it works

You were right, I was starting the wrong GothicStarter. My hard drive is such a mess.

Thank you though, Alistair. I'm going to play it right now, it looks like a lot of fun.

I have a question. Do I have to save the file to a certain location for the mod to work? If so, where?

I need help. It says in the read me thing for The Trial Mod: "Start up GothicStarter (in your ‘System’ folder), choose The Trial from the list, and hit Start Gothic. The other options are only used in development..." I opened this up and it was some notepad with all this writing on it. What does it want me to do when it says "...hit Start Gothic...?"

first of all, u have to install the playerkit in C:/program files/piranha bytes/gothic. then put the trial in the systems folder. then on your desktop there should be a folder that says gothicMOD and the starter is in there (or atleast the shortcut.)

there is a seperate savegame folder for the mods. the save games are in there.

i have a question of my own. i sent this in tips and tricks and noone ever replied!! how do u beat the trial!?!?! what happens when u beat it!?!!?!!?!

I have a similar question. I got all the diplomats back to the sawhut and killed all the enemies and nothing happened that told me I beat the mission. How do you beat it?
