Yeah. I'm a mage too, it goes slow though, since I'm trying to make a web site out of it too, if I manage I'm almost done in the catacombs under Aleroth. All remaining is to help the skeletons down there, and then have a fun time killing all spawned creatures dare to attack me. You should try with normal NPC's too (the named ones). I once bouth a spellbook from a normal citizen in the poor quarter. Don't recall who of them tough, but it would be random anyway I guess.

Yeah that's what I've been doing also - trading with the named NPCs that I come acorss. So far I've gotten one Hell Spike book, one Freeze book, and more Lock Picks then I'll probably ever use (I have 32 total right now). Also each item I have equiped has at least one slot for enchanting, but I can't find any damn charms lol.

I always sell my pick locks. I've never found it worth wasting sp on it just to get more money. And they a worth a lot too But next time I'm playing I'm gonna go for a survivor char, so I would probably use it then.

Oh hehe. I worked Lock Pick into my mages build. I just hate it when you come across a locked cheat or door knowing that there's some good items behind it, but can't get to it because it's locked! Also (slight spoiler)
Spoiler:
if you want to get into some of the hidden areas of the game you'll need level 5 lockpicking, at least that's what I've been told on the offical boards.

Really? I know only of one, but you don't need to have pick lock there, I think. Anyway, I doubt I would find them anyway I'm poor in finding such stuff.

Ah I wanna find everything I can my first play through, because I have no idea when I'll get to play this game again after I finish it. I have around 7 games, that are currently unopened, that I gotta play after this one...if it wasn't for Morrowind sucking a year out of my life I wouldn't be this backed up.

heh, I wonder how long time I've used on Morrowind, not to mention how many times I have restarted it. I always get sick of my character, even though I can train it in whatever I want.

hehehe me, too. I must have started at least three new characters a day, for two weeks, before I settled on a build. I finally had to uninstall the game and stick my CDs in storage just so I could move onto another game.

There is a way for your evil character to rationalize saving Lanilor. The fact that he gives you the teleport stone is definately reward enough. That thing is worth it's weight in diamonds!

As for merchants restocking? Yes, they do. You just need to leave the area for awhile, then come back later and they'll have restocked. As for the charms, I remember the mage in the market square selling them and the junk dealer in Verdistis.

Thanks, Val. I found out after playing the game for awhile that merchants tend to restock every three game days. That's how I got level 5 in the following spells without using the save/reload trick or the dupe trick (which I found out on accident;)).

Hell Spikes
Deadly Discs
Freeze
Lighting
Embrace Shadows
Limbs of Lead
Telekinesis
Polymorth
Skeletal Wall
Withering Curse
Aura of Guarding
Magical Might
Spellshield
Fade from Sight
Burining Wall
Poisonous Cloud
Elemental Hail
Summon Skeleton
Banish
Resurrect
Life Leech

Oh and about the saving Lanilor thing: even if I would have known that he gave you the teleport stone, and was still hell bent on playing evil, I still would have not saved him. I try to not meta-game when I role-play.
