There isn't "best" char. in the game. Try a Paladin(Cavalier or Inquisitor), Thieves are cool with backstab, "UAI" and "Spike trap" HLAs. Give a try to a Sorcerers, they are much better than wizards with propper spellmenagement. You can d/l plenty of kits from TeamBG and another sities. My first char. was Barbarian, i had only SoA and he was joy. I didn't play monk, ranger and cleric. One of the best kit is kensai dualed to thief at lvl 12 or 15. Another good choice is Swashbuckler. For party Bard is good as second spellcaster and frontman-singer

Ok it is done now my character is a Sorcerer:
S:17
D:19
C:17
I:17
W:10
CH:10 which will be 18 with the ring of human influence(or something like that)
Now the only stupid problem for me is I don't know how to cast spells with a sorcerer Can somebody help me a little ?

Player-created Charakters start without any memorized Spells. A Cleric, Druid or Mage must select them in their Spellbook and rest, Sorcerers just need to rest. You can access the Spells then from the "Moon and Stars" Icon.

I advise you to play a thief (I really preffer Swashbuckler), a Monk (really kicks around everything) and Archer (undoubtedly the best shooter around) ...

WARNING!!!
SOME SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

I think you should start from the begining. With Int. 17 you won't be able to cast 9 lvl spells according to manual. Or you must wait till Watcher's Keep-Machine of Lum the Mad to raise your Int. with 1 point. And NB!! Choose the spells VERY WISELY there is no way back once the spell is choosen!!! There are some manuals about sorc. spells-http://www.baldurdash.org/.
And once more-there isn't "BEST" char it depends on your playing style. Keep in mind that it is ROLE-PLAYING!!! Actualy, every party is powerful enough to beat the game on NORMAL Diff. even with lvl 15-18 char(with ToB). Here come MODS-for example i'm not sure you can win 10 of 10 the Improved Abazigal battle(d/l from Baldurdash) with regular(lvl 30) chars on Insane diff.
One of my favorite trick is to play BG with very, very low level party on insane diff with 5 chars. If everything is desperate i drop the save in multiplayersave folder and than import in 6-st slot my "DEUS EX MACHINA"- Kantor Spellsword(39 lvl Kensai/49 lvl Thief) with more than 25 spike traps, armed with Celestial Fury +5(WeiDu version) in main hand and Defender of Easthaven in off hand. So it is my style of Role-Playing. I know it is cheating but i like it. The most important is to have fun with game you are playing, not to follow the rules. But to be honest, my biggest triumph was with Pale Justice-30 lvl. Cavalier who cut the Prince of Daemons and his Minions after 40 min battle on insane diff. Oh, it was joy and victory to be sung by bards and poets!!

And something more. There is no need to set your strenght to 17 you are a sorc. after all, aren't you? The same with Constitution-the best is 16, after 16 ONLY Fighter Pool(Figh. Rang&Pal) can gain bonuses from high Con. Forget for Charisma, it is something very stupid in 2-nd Ed. of AD&D rules with this Atribute.

My power character...

Start with Human Fighter (high Str, Con, and Wis)

Get him up to high mastery in warhammers.

Dual class him to Cleric around level 15 or so.

Give him the Crom Faeyr.

By the end of the game you have a Cleric who has the hit points and THACO of a high level Fighter + all the Cleric spells.

Wielding the Crom Faeyr he is a machine of total destruction.

Thank you for all your great opinions. Servii you have played many RPGs aren't you???. Now since I have to start the game again anyways I'm between choosing one of this three: Inquisitor(I've heard is better than Cavalier) SwashBuckler(Is the best thief Kit) or a sorcerer again.

SPOILERS AHEAD!!!

There is an Incuisitor in the game-the noble Keldorn Firecam, and he is a good one with Bracers of Dexterity. I don't share the oppinion that Incuisitor is better than Cav-he is a wizards bane, but is weeker vs fighters and so. Swash is great and i see you like sorcs Since there is THE SPELLCASTER in the game(Edwin is the name) i don't think you will need another, hi is superrior to all spellcasters, NPCs or handmade with his amulet.
I'm not going to spoil you, but there isn't a good thief in BG2 so any kind of Thief will be OK. Do not underestimate Assasin, this kit is one of most powerful vs Mages if used properly.
But enough talks, go and forge your destiny!

P.S. Yes, i've played almost everything RPG i could place my hands upon. I love this game

And another SPOILER concerning Edwin...

if you keep Minsk in the Party and recruit Edwin, they will sooner or later fight to the Death. Edwin is evil and will leave you, if your Reputation gets to high. So if you wan't to play heroic or with Minsk, you might as well use a Sorcerer (also I'm really not sure, that a Sorcerer needs a high Int).

Ahhh damn and I have made a great Inquisitor:
S:18/00
D:18
C:18
I:13
W:13
CH:18
Isn't that a superb Inquisitor
But your point is right servii since I only need two Fighters they would be Keldron and Minsc then my Mage would be AERIE because of the romance my cleric would be Jaheira then Imoen as a Mage and me as a thief but don't know which kind
***********************************************************
We have talked to much about BG2 now I'm thinking into getting it all the way from bg1 to bg2 which you recommend a thief or a fighter??
PS: I have downloaded a mod called BGtuTU which makes BG1 able to support kits so now I can start the whole series with a sorcerer or monk or kensai or assassin

Hmm, nice party!
I usually prefer Nalia as a mage, btw, and Viconia as a cleric - cause of the romance. I don't remmember when was the last time I played the Aerie romance, but I find the one with Viconia better (btw, the only problem I have everhad with Viconia's evil alignment and me playing the good guy, was that once she had a ... problem with Keldorn, and they both resoved to hostility...)

Hmmm, I direct link ... ... I don't know if there is such a one - usually if I want a mod I go to www.sorceres.net and I assure you that there are TONS of modifications for BG2 - from small ones that add just a new character or a new romance to total conversions ...
