Heavy vs light armour

I always play a thief class in RPGs and therefore I am used to only wearing light armour. DD does things a little differently though, letting you pick and mix from each of the 3 base classes, so here's my question. Does wearing heavy armour impair thieving abilities like pickpocket, embrace shadows etc etc?

Not that I've experienced. I'm playing a survivor right now and it does not seem like it's hindering me.
