My inability to sleep in my current game in Gothic is not a computer issue. All my other saves can.
Besides, not every CRPGer is a computer technician. I am. I can usually find a work around and get most games working properly... but getting an application to work should NOT lie with the consumer.
If you buy a car, you don't expect to have to pop the trunk and tinker with the engine if it doesn't start the first time you turn the ignition key.
Obviously, computers are infinately more complex than cars... especially new high end computers with a hundred applications installed, and rapidly changing hardware configurations. You can't get all the bugs. It's just not possible. But I think that in the rush to make a deadline, programmers have given up even trying to.
I think a lot more bases could be covered. Expand outside beta testing. I've heard/seen games to to press with *3* computers used in testing. A min, a recommended, and a 'max'! If you get 100 people with the 100 most popular configurations you make your community happy as crashes are caught more often and they sing your hymns to their friends... who buy your game.

o and by the by, i play(ed) nox on my PC, not on this wimp little mac. i'm sure the PC has a much higher ping rater...er whatever u said.

Ping is your server response time, you want it to be lower. The Nox servers are all in CA so everyone who isn't in CA is at a disadvantage. |

I don't use magic much, who needs magic other than to stun 'em or blink away?
besides, your 'sword' will have a hard time reaching me when your dead eyes are facing my Crossbow. |
