i'm going to upgrade my processor to the highest processor i can for my motherboard model. unfortuately the fastest cpu i can get with my model is a 2.6Ghz but it's better than nothing. maybe i can even overclock it a little.

i have a new question, with a 2.6ghz, i know i'm still under the mark for the awesome graphic cards, but can i get a better one now?

I agree with Chekote. You´re wasting money. If your CPU upgrade path ends at 2.6 GHz -which you should check again, maybe you can flash a new BIOS or something- it´s a dead end.
My suggestion is still the same: buy a Radeon 9800 Pro or the NVidia equivalent for ~ $200. This will give you a huge boost, enough for almost all games. Save the rest of your money. In a year go for 3.5 GHz and a then fast graphics card. This will double your speed again.
btw., what graphics card do you have now?

Be wary of buying PCI Express cards this early in the game.

The card manufacturers have not have enough time to make a card that is truly optimized for PCI Express. Anything you buy now will just be a modified AGP card.

You will still likely notice an increase in performance. But until the manufacturers release a native PCI Express graphics card, you will not get the full potential from your PCI Express hardware.
