I'm drained and it's a pain |
|
Yes I have two characters that are now 'Drained'. I wish I knew how it was harming them, but either way it's very annoying and I can't figure out how to get rid of the condition.
I've looked through the manual and I've found little regarding it... |

Pg 47. A Drained character has lost hit points and stamina points to the attack of some insidious draining creature such as a Vampire Bat. Niether rest nor magic will restore hit points and stamina that has been lost to Draining. The only known cure is to drink a rare (and costly) Renewal Potion. _________________ Freeeeeeedom! You know, I've discovered another cure for draining: death. A resurrected character comes back undrained. As for the effects, it's usually only been a few HP on a front-line tank, so I don't worry about it too much. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

I was about to mention Braffitt's pool, which Guest did for me. Thanks. But as to once a day, I would clarify a little bit. I walked in with 3 people drained at once. All 3 were cured at the same time. Now I don't know what would have happened if it had been the same character within a day, and perhaps this is what Guest is referring to.
Also, I have read somewhere that if you give Fuzzfas a blue feather, he will make more (or start making) potions to cure draining. I haven't tried this, so I can't confirm it. _________________ The world itself shifts and changes and fades to mist like the strings of a minstrel's harp, and mayhap the dreams we forge are more enduring than the works of kings and gods.-Robert E. Or if you have at least one character with alchemy skill you can simply mix the potion you need...
But to get the final mix done you need fairly high alchemy skill, like 90'ish.
The good thing is that mixing the lower potions will quickly raise your alchemy skill, so if you have a lot of potions availbale you'll get there in no time.
Here's the recipe for the Renewal potion:
Light Heal + Mod Heal = Heavy Heal (lvl 15 alchemy)
Heavy Heal + Cure Light Condition = Cure Disease (lvl unknown, guess around 40-50 alchemy)
Heavy Heal + Cure Disease = Potion of Renewal (lvl around 90 somewhere)
This is also a great way to make money since after you identify the final product it sells for 4,000+ to most merchants. Here are the other combinations I know of:
Heavy Heal + Heavy Stamina = Potion of Restoration
Fire bomb + Ice Bomb = Canned elemental
Stink Bomb + Boom Bomb = Acid Bomb
Mod Heal + Mod Stamina = Pickmeup
Light Heal + Poison Reduction = Cure Poison
Light Heal + Bless = Guardian Angel
Sneeze Powder + Flash Powder = Pandemonium Powder
Dust of Dessication + Concussion Powder = Skeleton Powder
Magic Nectar + Renewal = RESURRECTION POWDER!!! |

My bishop was able to do this mix rather early. The cure disease can be done with 49 skill. Obviously, the exact requirement is less - probably 45 - but it's no higher than 49. The renewal can be done with 52 skill. At the moment, canned elemental is the only one I've attempted that I still can't do (currently skill is 72 IIRC). _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

Heck, as long as we're at it, here's the levels I've found so far.
Heavy Heal + Heavy Stamina = Potion of Restoration <53
Fire bomb + Ice Bomb = Canned elemental >70
Stink Bomb + Boom Bomb = Acid Bomb <62
Mod Heal + Mod Stamina = Pickmeup L20
Light Heal + Poison Reduction = Cure Poison L30
Light Heal + Bless = Guardian Angel ???
Sneeze Powder + Flash Powder = Pandemonium Powder >49
Dust of Dessication + Concussion Powder = Skeleton Powder ????
Magic Nectar + Renewal = RESURRECTION POWDER!!!
I won't have an answer on that last one. Seems to me you're better off keeping the nectar, selling the renewal, buying TWO powders, and having a little cash left over. _________________ =Proud Member of the Non-Flamers Guild=

oops
Now that you mention it I do remember being able to do the renewal earlier than that. Canned elemental take 95 skill. But I found Canned Elementals are nice to have . To use them though you need good artifacts skill....
Also, your correct on the resurrection powder as well. Much cheaper to just sell the renewal and buy the powder. But its still good to know how to mix one in a pinch. |

I still don't have the merging items thing down....
The only thing I've been able to do is the two vines to make a rope!
Although, I must brag that I figured out the riddle (It's everywhere you've been and everything you've done) on my own. It is SO gratifying to type something in and see it work... Like when I went to the 6th bough, and he asked me what or who I was looking for, I said 'Rats' at first but that didn't work at all, so I tried
Dominus
and it worked!!!
Makes me feel much better than a multiple choice would, lol. |

You mix potions like you merged the rope. For example: in your alchemist's / ranger's / ninja's / bishop's inventory in 2 separate inventory slots you have 1 potion of light heal + 1 potion of moderate heal you want to merge into a heavy heal. You click on one of them, hit the merge button, and then click on the other potion. Assuming your alchemy skill is high enough, you will then have 1 unidentified potion. (Which you then give to your priest / psionic type to identify to build up that skill for them. ) _________________ The world itself shifts and changes and fades to mist like the strings of a minstrel's harp, and mayhap the dreams we forge are more enduring than the works of kings and gods.-Robert E. The research on potions is complete, and is one of the things available on Avenstar's Wiz * Page, i can't set up a link, but that list is not complete, here's my list:\
Alchemy Skill 15--L. Heal + M. Heal = H. Heal
20--L. Heal + Bless = Guard. Angel
20--M. Stam + M. Heal = Pickmeup
30--L Heal + Poison Reduc = Cure Poison
30--Stink B. + Boom B. = Acid B.
40--H. Heal + CLC = Cure Disease
50--C. Disease + H. Heal = Renewal
50--Flash P. + Sneeze P. = Pandemon P.
95--Fire B. + Ice B. = Canned Elmntl.
To make lots of money, and let your Bish/Nin/Ran/Alc
practise their skill, progress through this list at Braffit, Fuzzfas, Crock, et al. The only one that's a loss is Guardian Angel, you can skip that one completely. Make a million bux in a couple game weeks in Arnika. If you save just before kissing the NPC, you can reload if the inventory doesn't please you, and try again. Merchants can get overloaded, too; if you see millions of arrows, buy them & litter the store with'm and the good stuff is more likely to show up. |

Yah. This is why all my parties that haven't had a Bish had a Ranger or Ninja. |
