This is my first game of this type. I have done everything the walkthrough stated and still cannot seem to get to the human city of arx. I cannot get passed the collapsed passageway or that unstable wall. What do I do?

Welcome to the Boards first of all. If I understand right you need to find the crystal caves at the very start of the game. Did you make it to the outpost yet? If so you will know what I mean. Go back to level 2 on the maps and out in front of the trolls entrance. Head to your left and go all the way back as far as you can and you will find stairs going down to the water. Before you get to the water on the right there is an opening and it leads to the crystal caves. Hard to see. I looked for hours before I found it. Hope this helps. If not, just post exactly where you are on the map and I or someone can help walk you through it. Are you playing pc or xbox by the way, just for future reference. If it is the pc version, I suggest you download and install the patch right away. It is a must. You can find it in the support file right here in the Arx hosted site to the left here. Have fun. It is a great game.

This is the pc version and I didn't know that a patch was needed. I found the place where you're talking about, didn't see crystal caves, but I am heading there right now. Thank you so much for your help and never thought I'd like a game like this but love it.

Here is a link to the patch. You have to have it unless you got one with the patch on it, but I don't think they made any for pc. Just install where you are, it won't hurt the current game. Click here. If you can't find it then post where you are according to map and we can go from there.

You are welcome. If you can't find an answer here in the threads just ask. We all love to help out fellow gamers. And as a hint, the walkthrough is great, but don't forget to explore every part of this world. There are hidden treasures not listed in the walkthrough or on the maps.
