Temple of Illusions & Ice Dragon help (possible spoilers

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows how to progress further in the temple of illusions near the snakewomen. I have the first golden snake, but the second is caged in a room with 6 levers. I have the helmet which dispells illusions, but i cannot figure out how to open the cage.

Also, I found the Ice Dragon...tried fighting him for about an hour but no luck. Anyone defeat him yet?

Can't help with ice dragon, but....

The area with the six levers, you looked in the crystal ball right? It shows one of the rooms with the lever in it... but which one? Ever read Hansel and Gretel? Need more help? Look down

Mark each of the six rooms with a different item, you can pick them back up when its all done. Look in the crystal ball to find out which lever to pull, you will be able to tell which room from the item you dropped there. Go back and check the crystal ball, it will show you the next room in the sequence. Repeat until all levers have been pulled, then go back and collect your stuff

Thanks!

Can't believe I never thought of doing that. Tricky tricky.

It's a clever puzzle. The problem is that its flakey. When I first encountered this puzzle, I wanted to figure out which room the crystal ball was pointed at. I figured it would point to the rooms in order. Instead of dropping an item in each room, I started just dropping one in each of the rooms on the left (I could tell it was on the left because of the wall pattern.) When I saw the item I dropped in the crystal ball, I went back and pulled the lever. Then I went back to the crystal ball. It still pointed at the item I dropped. So I figured I must be off track in my solution. Eventually I gave up and logged in to find a spoiler. I was on the right track after all. I decided to just pull all the levers in the correct order. Nothing happened.

It wasn't until I went back and DROPPED AN ITEM IN EACH ROOM that the puzzle worked.

I'm disappointed that somehow this puzzle doesn't work unless you solve it the way they want you to. I worry what other puzzles have to be solved in some exact way like this.

I solved the puzzle without dropping any items. You can notice that the pattern of shadows in each room is different so you can find out which room the orb is pointing to.
