Sounds interesting. Will the atmosphere be similar to Fallout?

So, in some areas will technology be reverted back to the Stone, Bronze or Iron Age? Is that how you plan to tie in magic? With the loss of technology, people revert back to nature, etc?

Magic

I will first say the Rules of Magic was something I thought about for a long time, after all there has to be some balance of power.

In every aspect of the world both co-exsit. Magic is more a untapped energy, that can be changed to one's will (providing one has the skill to do this), just as the ability to use advancements is in ones abilities.

All the holes did was allow this untapped energy to be more accessable.

Now in certian areas, or worlds this energy has diffrent qualities allowing this energy to take on diffrent forms. IE Enchanters, Necromancers, Ect Ect Ect.

So it is not a reverting, as people in our own time practice magic, it is just more easily obtained now.

Now the fun and diffrence comes in, Cultures and Races that Magic was more exceptable will have stronger use of this force, where Cultures that don't will have to manufacter or reley on other means.

Think of it as the balance to the Tech, more then a foreien substance to our world.

I will say I owuld like to thank the ppl of this forum, as they have asked me some of the best questions I have had yet,

Heh, flatterer.

So, will it have kind of a Steampunk feel to the game then? Kind of like Arcanum, where science and technology is balanced with magic? Will those that practice either extreme be opposed to the other? Will those that practice magic be unable to use technology and vice versa? Or will it be like Arcanum where they can use an item from an opposing discipline, but there's a chance it'll blow up in their face?

Magic with Tec

They will be able to use both, providing thier trained. I dont see why you could not, There are of corse some classes that cant combind both, those who follow nature will be less adveres to modren ways.

I would also like to say the client will be released for Beta this Moday, so for those who are thinking about sigining up for beta, theres still time and room.
The client will be able to generate the characters you will use in the game, Network support has been disabled, untill the server is running a week latter
